This consultation has been re-opened to align with the Further Consultation on the Regulation 19 Castle Point Plan.

There have been no changes to the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment since it was published for consultation on the 1 August 2025.

If you have already provided comments on the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment since 1 August 2025, then we have received these, and they have been accepted as duly made, unless we have contacted you separately to advise otherwise.

If you wish to make new comments on the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment, then please complete the consultation response form at the bottom of this page by 5 December 2025.

Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment

In preparing the Castle Point Plan the Council has ensured that the proposals it contains will achieve relevant environmental, economic and social objectives. This has been achieved through the Sustainability Appraisal process. 

The Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment has used a framework to interatively assess and improve the policies and proposals in the plan as they have emerged. It has also ensure that the Castle Point Plan is appropriate, having assessed reasonable alternatives in terms of the overall strategy, site selection and policies.
